Setting Up Your My Oil Sticker Custom Webhook in Tekmetric

Introduction

Webhooks are a powerful tool that allows Tekmetric to communicate with My Oil Sticker in real-time. By setting up a custom webhook, you can automate vehicle transfer into the My Oil Sticker database. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up a custom webhook in Tekmetric.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, you will need:

Step-by-Step Guide
  1. Log in to your Tekmetric account.

  2. Navigate to the Webhooks section. This is usually found in the Integrations menu.

  3. Click on the "Add Webhook" button.

  4. Enter a name for your webhook. This is for your reference only. Usually something like “MOS” or “My Oil Sticker”

  5. Select these events that will trigger the webhook.

    1. Work Approved/Declined

    2. Complete Repair Order

    3. Post Repair Order

    4. Send Repair Order to A/R

    5. Repair Order Status or Label Change

  6. Enter the URL of the external application. This is where Tekmetric will send the data when the event is triggered: https://app.myoilsticker.com/api/v1/webhook/tekmetric

  7. Click on the "Save" button.

Testing Your Webhook

Once you have created your webhook, it is important to test it to make sure it is working correctly. You can do this by triggering the event that you selected in Step 5. Tekmetric will then send a test payload to the URL that you entered in Step 6. You should see data start transferring into your My Oil Sticker “Oil Data” Table.

Troubleshooting

If your webhook is not working, there are a few things you can check:

  • Make sure that the URL you entered is correct.

  • Click the “Import Oil Data” button from inside My Oil Sticker.
