Installing a Non-Published Microsoft Edge Extension

Follow these step-by-step instructions to install a non-published Edge extension.

Ensure you are using the Microsoft Edge browser, as extensions for Edge are designed specifically for it.

1. Click the three-dot menu (ellipsis) in the top-right corner of the Edge browser.

2. Select "Extensions" from the dropdown menu.

3. Click "Manage Extensions" to open the Extensions page where all installed extensions are listed.

1. On the Extensions page, locate the "Developer mode" toggle switch.

2. Click the switch to turn Developer Mode ON. This will allow you to install extensions manually that are not available in the Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store.

1. Obtain the MOS extension file in a ZIP format. This file should be provided to you.

2. Save the file to an easily accessible location on your computer (such as the Downloads folder or Desktop).

1. Locate the downloaded ZIP file.

2. Extract the contents of the ZIP file to a folder on your computer.

3. In the Manage Extensions page of Edge, click "Load unpacked".

4. Select the extracted folder that contains the extension files.

5. Click "Select Folder" to install the extension.

1. Once installed, the extension should appear in the list of extensions.

2. If necessary, click the "Enable" button to activate it.

3. The extension may now appear in your browser’s extension bar.

• If the extension does not install, ensure that Developer Mode is enabled.

• If Edge blocks the extension, try installing it again from edge://extensions/.

• Restart Microsoft Edge after installation to ensure the extension is working correctly.
